Every candidate for membership to ITMA must satisfy the basic criteria as set out below as well as satisfying the Council that they are of good character and repute, of adequate educational attainment and generally are, in all respects, a suitable person to be admitted to membership. It is also proposed to be a requirement for Ordinary Members, Fellows and corporate Honorary Members, that they be and remain registered on the Register of Trade Mark Attorneys.

Administrator Member

If you have passed the Trade Mark Administrators' (formerly known as 'Trade Mark Formalities') qualification examinations and have the support of 2 Corporate1 Members of ITMA.

Administrator Membership fees for 2010 are £100 but please do not send payment with your application as you will be invoiced upon election.

Affiliate Members

If you want to become a qualified trade mark attorney and have already passed (or are exempt from) all the trade mark foundation level exams and have the support of 2 Corporate1 Members of ITMA. .

Affiliate Membership fees for 2010 are £280 but please do not send payment with your application as you will be invoiced upon election.

Allied Members

If you are a UK barrister or solicitor who is engaged in practice as a Trade Mark Attorney or Agent, have at least two years' full-time practice in the field of IP and have the support of 2 Corporate1 Members of ITMA.

Allied Membership fees for 2010 are £310 but please do not send payment with your application as you will be invoiced upon election.

Associate Members

If you do not practice as a trade mark agent or attorney but are associated with the trade mark profession and have the support of 2 Corporate1 Members of ITMA.

Fellows

If you have a colleague who you feel has contributed significantly to the aims and objectives of the Institute, has been an Ordinary Member for at least five years, and has the support of 3 Corporate1 Members of ITMA.

Fellowship Members fees for 2010 are £450 but please do not send payment with your application as you will be invoiced upon election.

Ordinary Members

If you have passed both the foundation and advanced level trade mark exams and are listed on the Register of Trade Mark Agents.

If you are on the Register of Trade Mark Agents but have not passed any trade mark exams and have for at least three years immediately preceding your application, been practising as a trade mark attorney or as a trade mark agent in the UK, please the contact the Institute Office: lauren@itma.org.uk.

Ordinary Membership fees for 2010 are £370 but please do not send payment with your application as you will be invoiced upon election.

Overseas Members

If you practice as, or are engaged in the profession or work of a trade mark attorney outside the U.K. and have the support of 2 Corporate1 Members of ITMA.

Overseas Membership fees for 2010 are £300 but please do not send payment with your application as you will be invoiced upon election.

Student Members

If you want to become a qualified trade mark attorney, have not passed any trade mark exams but have the support of 1 Corporate1 Member of ITMA.

Student Membership fees for 2010 are £200 but please do not send payment with your application as you will be invoiced upon election.
