Trade Mark Administrators' Course

Trade Mark Administrators' Course (formerly, the Formalities Course)

What's the background to the Trade Mark Administrators' Course?

The course, formerly known as the Formalities course, started in October 1997 and aimed to provide official recognition of the duties performed by support staff and trade mark administrators. We found that the initial intake of students was a collection of very able administrators who on average had at least 6 years' worth of experience. However, with the latest intake of students, the mixture varied from experienced administrators to those who had worked in the field for a short period of time. The course is designed to test knowledge and provide the necessary tools for any student, so that on completion of the course, they have a sound understanding of trade mark formalities and official procedures.
