    Licensing of image rights – considerations and potential problems
    Tim Collins, Head of Commercial Development for Children's Entertainment , DC Thomson

    Tim Collins of DC Thomson will talk about the complex journey from creation of a TV, film or publishing-based character to turning it into a global phenomenon. He will illustrate this session with characters well known to the audience. Tim has for many years been involved in the development and exploitation of film and TV intellectual property.  He worked for Universal Studios in the mid 1990’s, set up HIT Entertainment’s in-house licensing operation in 1998, and worked at DreamWorks and Endemol.

    How to build a successful sports brand through licensing - the story of Manchester United FC’s global brand.
    Tom Howgate, Founder, Fluid Sports Ltd

    Tom Howgate, former Head of Licensing at Manchester United, will discuss the recent history of the global expansion of the Manchester United brand at a Licensing level, discussing the ups and downs of the journey and the lessons that were learned along the way.

The Royal Institute of British Architects

The Grade II listed building of historical and architectural importance is one of the very first examples of 'modern' architecture to be so recognised and is the present headquarters of the Royal Institute of British Architects, opened on 8 November 1934 by King George V and Queen Mary, was designed by G Grey Wornum CBD FRIBA (1888-1957), who won the competition that attracted 284 entries.
