London Marks the Change of Time
With London being a key world city in 2012, what better place to hold our Spring Conference than right in the heart of the capital.
Building on the back of our highly successful Spring Conference in 2011 at Claridge's, we are delighted to announce details of our 2012 event. Three fascinating days of conference and networking with key leaders in our industry... this year’s Spring Conference will focus on some of the peripheral parts of European law, which either affect or are affected by the validity of a trade mark. The vagaries of national laws, as well as a comparison with other laws from outside the EU will also be considered.
Clearly, it is not just the United Kingdom or, indeed, any other European country which has to consider the legal limits of parallel importation or genuine use of trade marks; these are subjects which affect countries all over the world. In addition to our consideration of European law, therefore, the activities of other countries will also be considered, in order to determine whether anything could be learned from those countries and whether the practices of overseas countries could perhaps be imported into European law.
As usual, our conference programme consists of a high calibre of speakers from across the trade mark profession and this year we are delighted that Baroness Wilcox, Minister for IP, will formally open our conference by addressing delegates with a keynote speech on the Thursday morning.
