URGENT! - ICANN consultation on protection of Trade Marks in the new gTLDs

1 July, 2009

ICANN is consulting on proposals for systematic protection of Trade Marks when the numerous new gTLDs are introduced from 2010.

Nick Wood (ITMA Associate Member) has kindly prepared a briefing paper concerning the ICANN consultation on the new gTLDs.

Members are urged to reply to this consultation, and to urge their colleagues to reply. As Nick has commented “ICANN actually counts up comments in favour of IP protection and those against!” when making a decision. There is very little time as the comment period closes on 6 July 2009.

In addition, Nick is moderating a ICANN London Consultation Day on 15 July at the Royal Institute of British Architects in Portland Place. 9.00 am start. All ITMA members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
